How it is done

The way I learned to draw, I would use a grid pattern like what you see here. the grid spaces are 1"x1" on my drawing surface. on the photo that I am drawing from, the grid spaces are 1/4"x1/4". this = a 1:4 ratio.

In the digital world, the grid is the same ,but I do not have to erase the grid when I am done. I just turn it off. I also do not have to erase the outline. I just draw over it in color.

This is what it looks like on paper.

This is what it looks like in the digital world

This is the start of the color or fill-in process, bit by bit. what you see here is about 2 weeks of work. I like to draw the      background as I go.

I hope this helps you understand a little more of the way I do things .

All 12 steps for you to see.

Some blow ups of some of the steps.

Step 1

Step 6

Step 8

Step 11

Final

And 2.5 to 3.5 months later I am done.
